Job purpose:

Lead and manage a team responsible for underwriting and monitoring the credit risk of the business and escalating significant credit risk issues to Management. Facilitate the execution of risk management processes to assist in the achievement of the business objectives of the organisation whilst ensuring effective credit risk mitigation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day running of the Credit Risk Team.
  • Strong credit analysis skills with a minimum of 7 years of experience in credit risk.
  • Strong background in credit and financial statement analysis, preferably working in a trading, capital markets, or financial institution environment.
  • The ability to form an independent opinion, communicate this opinion effectively, and act within the scope of authority.
  • Experience with credit risk management tools and techniques.
  • Experience leading, developing, and motivating high-performing credit risk teams, including remote and geographically dispersed employees.
  • Ensure Credit Risk Team receives adequate training and support to perform their roles to the best of their abilities.
  • Ensure infrastructure, controls, and procedures for all existing and future activities are vetted from an EMEA & Asia Credit perspective to ensure effective Credit Risk management.
  • Ensure that appropriate Credit risk policies, standards, controls, and procedures are established and adhered to; and promote diligent assessment, measurement, management, and reporting of risks throughout the organisation.
  • Review and approve credit limits counterparties that remain within the defined risk appetite of the company.
  • Periodically evaluates the adequacy of the company’s Credit methodologies and controls.
  • Negotiate financial agreements including ISDA’s and TOB’s on matters relating to Credit Risk / Limits.
  • Play an integral role in project work for new business lines, entities, and performing due diligence on potential acquisitions.
  • Identify and deliver efficiencies within the department and collaborate with Risk colleagues in other jurisdictions to find efficiencies across the group.
  • Monitor, manage and enhance both counterparty credit and country credit risk limits to ensure compliance with established credit limits, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide periodic updates to management including providing input to Board Reports and other relevant Board Committees.
